Helen lives and works in Sheffield, England, near the Peak District National Park. Helen has been making and exhibiting her art textiles since 1990 and is best known her landscape based work and minimalist quilts. Current influences are English textile traditions, including North Country quilting and eighteenth century copperplate printed textiles. Most recently her work has focused on hand stitch and mark making, including writing a book and teaching masterclasses and workshops. Her 2014-5 project was a collaboration with Bradford Textile Archive exploring the notebook of Mary Ware from 1773. Helen is now working on a new collaboration – details available soon!
